Marie H. Carroll of Desert Hot Springs, formerly of Los Angeles, passed away on January 24, 2020. Born in Los Angeles on February 18, 1928. She attended Sacred Heart Grammar School and Sacred Heart High School in Los Angeles. She worked at Bishop Conklin Paints for 31 years and the State of California before retiring in 1991. Marie's husband, Andy and her daughter Paula preceded her in death. She is survived by three children and 6 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.

Marie loved to give to others and volunteered for many years at the Senior Center in Desert Hot Springs. Eventually becoming the supervisor over the Volunteer Program and won several awards for her community service; 1993 Award for Community Service, 1994 Distinguished Service Award for the entire Coachella Valley. 1995 Woman of Distinction, 1996 Certificate of Appreciation from the City of Desert Hot Springs, 1998 Recognition for Extraordinary Commitment and Performance, 1998 Dedicated Volunteer/Elks Lodge, and 2005 DHS Outstanding Volunteer. Besides volunteering, Marie loved playing the slots in Las Vegas and going camping with Andy to Idyllwild and Jalama Beach.

After Andy passed away, Marie missed him very much and would often say that he had forgotten her and wondered aloud when he was coming for her. On January 24, 2020, Andy finally came for his love and they are now reunited. So please don't be sad because she wanted to be with her true love again. We will miss our Mother and will never forget the great love she had for her family. We will miss you every day Mom. RIP.
