John (Jack) Judson Gravlin suddenly passed away at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, CA on January 30, 2014 at the age of 80. He had suffered several years with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Jack was surrounded by close friends at the time of his death.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Josephine Gravlin; Sisters, Joanne Srsen and Marilyn Sherwin.
Jack is lovingly remembered by his brother, Don Gravlin; sister, Rosie Gavin; son, Raymond (Marlene) Gravlin; Daughters, Cory Larson, Sharon (David) Goebel, and Linda (Kevin) Driessen; 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Jack was born in Faribault, MN on April 2, 1933. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the School of Hard Knocks. He worked as a master painter and taper. He lived between Faribault, MN and Palm Springs, CA.
Jack particularly enjoyed collecting and restoring antique slot machines. He also collected clowns, camels, cars, and anything he thought interesting. Jack had a big heart and was always helping people in need. He and his family were very proud of his 50 years of sobriety.
Visitation will be held at Rose Mortuary for friends and family on Tuesday, February 25th from 4:00 to 6:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
