Jeffrey Jay Makus passed away December 11th, 2012 at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, California. The eldest of three siblings, he was born October 23, 1941 in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin to Albert and Joyce Makus.

He attended Cheyenne (now Central) High School where he met Sharrie Miller. They married in 1960 and had two sons, Jon and Jim Makus. In 1962 they moved to Riverside, California. He worked for Stater Brothers Market as a meat cutter for 35 years.

In 1976 he married Sylvia Salazar and resided in Lake Arrowhead. He had a passion for golf and after retiring at the age of 55, he enjoyed golfing almost every day.

At the time of his death, he resided in Thousand Palms, California and attended Christ Lutheran Church in Desert Hot Springs, California. He enjoyed the outdoors, cooking and visiting with friends. People were attracted to his friendly personality and sense of humor.

Jeff is survived by his sister Cheryl Miller of Cheyenne, Wyoming, his two sons Jon and Jim Makus of Forest Grove, Oregon, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Joyce Makus and his brother Albert Makus, Jr.

A Memorial Service is planned for January 12th, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Christ Lutheran Church, 66290 Estrella Avenue, Desert Hot Springs, California 92240.
