Jaime Gonzalez Salgado, 51 of Cathedral City, California passed away peacefully on July 19, 2013 in Palm Desert with his wife Rena by his side. He was born on August 16, 1961 in Chihuahua, Mexico to Ricardo Gonzalez and Hortencia Salgado. He graduated from high school in 1979 and entered the United States Army right after graduation. After serving four years in the army he moved to Desert Hot Springs, California, there after he began working at Two Bunch Palms Resort where he met Rena. They dated seven years before they were married in Las Vegas, Nevada on August 17, 1993.
Jaime was a hardworking and dedicated man who was skilled in many fields of work. He worked at the Westin Mission Hills Hotel for many years as an air conditioning technician and his most recent career endeavor brought him to Spotlight 29 Casino where he became the Chiller Plant Manager for several years. Jaime has formed many long lasting friendships throughout his working career.
He is survived by Rena his wife and pal of 27 years and their two loving Beagles Gordo and Chiquita, three sisters, five brothers, mother-in-law Valdeen, three sister-in-laws, a brother-in-law and 27 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother Hortencia Salgado and his father Ricardo Gonzalez.
Jaime was a well-respected role model for his entire family and loved dearly by all who were lucky enough to meet him and be part of his life. He was a best friend to Rena and because of that she is the strong woman that she is today. We all hold a part of Jaime with us, as he was a loving and caring husband, brother, uncle, father figure and son-in-law who taught us all how to love and be loved unconditionally.
Jaime lived and enjoyed his life to the fullest and will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him.
Gordo and Chiquita will definitely miss their Daddy and their special taco Tuesday nights at home watching soccer.
Funeral is at 10:00 a.m. at The Bridge Calvary Chapel 32611 Date Palm Drive, Cathedral City with Pastor Chris McPike officiating. Services are under the direction of Rose Mortuary, Desert Hot Springs.
