Tribute & Message From The Family

Pat enjoying life with a smile that could light up a room!

Lelah Patricia Dippner (nee Garrison), the beloved Mother of Vicki, Ric, Danny and 11 grandchildren, peacefully passed away in her own home on Saturday 01 June 2013. In death, she will be joining her devoted husband, Richard Dippner and darling grandson, Nic Dippner.

Pat was born in Lethbridge, Alberta Canada on 07 May 1928 to her parents Ivan and Annie Garrison. Her grandparents, Lelah and William Garrison were homesteaders in Northern Alberta and their adventurous journey and trials and tribulations is described in a book entitled Edison's Way, written by Pat's Aunt, Daphne Garrison.

Pat, or Patsy was a graduate of the Calgary General Hospital School of Nursing in Calgary Alberta Canada. Following her nursing graduation, she married her high school sweetheart, Dick Dippner and they shared 61 years of happiness together.

Pat, a wonderful humanitarian gave of herself to society in many ways. She was a Hospice Volunteer and a DRMC Volunteer Hospital Chaplain and served as Treasurer for the Republican Women's Association. Pat also belonged to the Desert Hot Springs Women's Association. With her beautiful, harmonious voice, Pat was an active member of the Sweet Adeline's chorus, competing on a national level. An enigma, Pat brought joy and laughter to any gathering. She was a faithful member of the Grace Church, singing in their choir and participating in their many projects.

Her home was the "Mi Casa es Su Casa" philosophy and many a dinner had surprises of interesting people gathered around Pat's bountiful table.

Nothing made Pat happier than being surrounded by her children and their families.

A Memorial Service for this remarkable woman will be held at Grace Church in Desert Hot Springs on Friday 21 June 2013 at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Research Inc.

The Dippner family extends their gratefulness to the incredibly compassionate people of Desert Oasis Hospice for the loving care they provided.

Pat and Richard Dippner will be laid to rest in Calgary Alberta Canada later this summer.

Arrangements are under the direction of Rose Mortuary, Desert Hot Springs.
