Condolence & Memory Journal

I met Joe in the early 90s when I worked as a media buyer in a small advertising agency representing Applied Biosystems and later Perkin-Elmer. He sold advertising for BioTechniques and other life sciences publications. Joe was always friendly and helpful, and even called me a few times after I moved on to work with non-biotech companies. He just liked people wanted to stay in touch, that's who he was. I wish I had done a better job staying in touch, as he was a genuinely kind man. In fact, even though I haven't spoken to him in 20 years, I happened to think about him today and googled him and found this. My condolences go out to his family, but I know he lived a long and full life.

Cheers, Joe. I know you are out there somewhere. I look forward to seeing you again when my time comes.

My sincere condolences to the Shea Family. I consider myself lucky to have had the pleasure of working with Joe at BioTechniques. He was a mentor and a friend. Joe always gave excellent advice with sincerity and the classic "Joe Shea" sense of humor. May he rest in peace, God Bless.

I really can not remember when I met Joe because he has always been a good friend of my family. We met him and his family when they lived in Upland, California, he was a neighbor. We kept in touch with him no matter where he was living. We spend several summer vacations with him and his family when they lived in Laguna Beach, California.
He was always happy and had a smile on his face. I was truly sad to hear about his loss.
I know that without a doubt anyone who knew him will certain mourn the loss of him.
Rest in Peace, You be missed but never forgotten, Love You.
