Tribute & Message From The Family

Message From The Family

Thank you for your support during this difficult time. Please enhance this tribute to Darrell by adding your memories and photos.

Darrel was born is Lisbon, Ohio, on August 11, 1936, to Gale and Thelma Williams. In his youth he worked helping neighbors on their farms while attending school. When he graduated from Beaver High School, he went directly into the Air Force, where he trained at Lackland AFB. He was trained there for working on airplanes and traveled to many places, spending the last two years of his service at March Air Force Base.
He attended four years of college at Loma Linda University, becoming a Registered Physical Therapist. He was well known in Orange County CA, for over 50 years.
Here he met and fell in love with his wife of 45 years, Dessa. They shared a hobby of collecting antiques and eventually worked the jewelry counter at a weekly auction for many years.
Darrell had his own physical therapy office in Orange County, CA. His wife worked in the office while his daughter, Lynne, worked the outpatient hospitals with Darrell. He retired in 2010 to Palm Springs, California, where he always said he wanted to die. You did that, my dear Husband. RIP. You will be loved always and missed.
He is survived by 6 children from a previous marriage and 3 children of Dessa's, so they were the Brady Bunch. His children are Michael, Bruce, Derrick and Rick B Williams, Lynne Luna, and Sandy Gram. His stepchildren are Randy Love, Rick Williams and Renee Carlton. He also leaves behind a brother, Gary Williams, and sister, Gloria Reed, as well as 18 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Gale and Jack Williams, an uncle and many nieces and nephews.

Condolence & Memory Journal

Dearest Dessa,
Don't know if you remember me, Donna Johnson, who worked as a receptionist during the mid-70s at Buena Vista Convalescent Hospital. I have been trying to find you and Darrell for so many years, and I am so sorry to find you after Darrell has passed on. I have such fond memories of both of you! You were always so kind to me, and were so fun to work with. I especially remember on Halloween when Darrell dressed up as the best Dracula I have ever seen, and you were dressed as Mrs. Dracula. Please accept my sincere wishes of condolence in Darrell's passing. Please contact me if you wish, at my email address, or call me at (714)290-0204)
Much love,

We had the pleasure of meeting Darrell at a dinner with friends. He was a very gracious and endearing man. Loved his sense of humor ...
