I had the privilege of sharing laughter, fashion, and sweetness with Carolyn through my time as a Stylist at Macy's. It was always such a treat to block the afternoon for Carolyn. It took extra time, but her face just lit up with excitement seeing all the fashions I had pulled for her. Just like her, she loved white, cream and black. She was such a little Diva and knew exactly what she wanted, how she wanted to look, and always mentioned her lovely husband Don, who sometimes waited out in the car for hours, while Carolyn shopped. Oh, he would get antsy with how long we took, but these special times gave her life, gave her joy, and gave her something to look forward to that perhaps words could never convey. I just "got" Carolyn and we had a very special bond, although our time was brief and a new welcomed friend. We spoke of her days in the entertainment business, she sang for me on occasion and this firey, sweet, determined, beautiful woman blessed me every time she came in to shop. I know she is in heaven, orchestrating the music, the songs, and the look of her performance with the angels. When I hear Motown, I will always remember Carolyn. She is happy, painfree and will be there to welcome us when it is our turn, with that beautiful smile, those clear light blue eyes, and we will dance!
