I met Joe in the early 90s when I worked as a media buyer in a small advertising agency representing Applied Biosystems and later Perkin-Elmer. He sold advertising for BioTechniques and other life sciences publications. Joe was always friendly and helpful, and even called me a few times after I moved on to work with non-biotech companies. My sincere condolences to the Shea Family. I consider myself lucky to have had the pleasure of working with Joe at BioTechniques. He was a mentor and a friend. Joe always gave excellent advice with sincerity and the classic "Joe Shea" sense of humor. May he rest in peace, God Bless.
